So far I am trying to connect three different ideas.
The vintage leather press, old hand water pumps, and oil rigs.
After thinking about what I wanted to do for the cover I remembered a magazine I used to collect before it went fully digital called Shonen...
The press and water pump handle imagery flow really nicely, and i think you're coming up with a really interesting composition. Have you thought about background much yet? Could be interesting to take an offshore drilling rig and blend it into the background, or create a REALLY smoggy sky and connect it back to climate change and pollution from drilling for oil
ReplyDeleteI definitely see the water press within this image. That was the first thing I thought of and something relatable to my exposure with them. However, since it is a black and white image I am struggling to see the oil spill part of this. If you see how oil looks when in water it's almost has a shiny rainbow look to this, and yes I know we have black and white rules to this project. But is there any way you think you could portray that? Or do you have something else in mind to take our thought away just from the water pump?
ReplyDeleteI saw a water pump and thought that was your appliance. I like the idea of oil rigs but I am not getting the leather press
